Structure: format

Once you have decided on the elements to include in your report, format the report so that the information is easy to find. In many cases your report will take the form of a chart or table, but it may also be a letter or memo. Often a project progress report is only one page, but may refer to other documents like the Issue Log, Risk Log, or Change Log.

Many organizations already have a standard project progress report format. Whether or not your organization has a standard format, use the same format consistently. This will make it easier for your audience to read the report and find the information they need.
