Address

The first thing your letter should do is catch the reader's attention positively. To do this, addressing it correctly is the first step.

Make sure you send the letter to the right person. Normally, the recruiter's name will be mentioned in the ad, but it is always best to check twice. Getting the name of the addressee wrong is a flaw which will be hard to set straight.

If you do not know the addressee's name, give a ring to the company to find out the name of the recruiter. It always gives a better impression than opening your letter with "Dear sir, dear madam" or "Dear + job title".
